Hadith 30591
٣٠٥٩١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن حنظلة السدوسي قال: سمعت أنس بن مالك (يقول: كان) (١) يؤمر بالسوط فتقطع ثمرته، ثم يدق بين حجرين (٢) ثم يضرب به، فقلت لأنس: في زمان من كان هذا؟ قال: في زمان عمر ابن الخطاب (٣).
Hazrat Hanzala Sudosi narrates that I heard Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: It was ordered regarding the whip that its lower end should be cut off, then it should be placed between two stones and made thin, then it should be used for beating. I asked Hazrat Anas: In whose time was this done? He replied: In the time of Hazrat Umar bin Khattab.
