Hadith 3021
٣٠٢١ - حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن معمر عن الزهري عن عروة عن عبد الرحمن ابن عبد القاري قال: شهدت عمر بن الخطاب يعلِّم الناس (التشهد) (١) على المنبر: التحيات للَّه الزاكيات للَّه الطيبات الصلوات للَّه، السلام عليك أيها النبي ورحمة اللَّه وبركاته، السلام علينا وعلى عباد اللَّه الصالحين، أشهد أن لا إله إلا اللَّه، وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله (٢).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abd al-Qari says that I saw Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) teaching the tashahhud on the pulpit. Its words were: All verbal worship, all pure worship, physical worship, and financial worship are for Allah. O Prophet, peace be upon you, and may Allah’s mercy and blessings descend upon you. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Allah’s servant and His Messenger.
