Hadith 30186
٣٠١٨٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا بن أبي ذئب عن الزهري عن طارق الشامي (١) أنه أتي برجل في سوقة فضربه، (فأقر) (٢) فبعث ⦗٣٨٢⦘ إلى ابن عمر (يسأله) (٣) عن ذلك فقال له ابن عمر: لا تقطعه فإنه إنما أقر بعد ضربك إياه (٤).
Hazrat Zuhri narrates that a man was brought to Tariq Shami who had been caught in a case of theft. So he sent someone to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) to ask him about this matter. Upon this, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said to them: Do not cut off his hand, because it is possible that he confessed after being beaten by you.
