٢٩٨٦٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو خالد عن أشعث عن فضيل عن عبد اللَّه بن معقل قال: كنت جالسًا عند علي فجاءه رجل فساره فقال علي: يا قنبر، فقال الناس: ⦗٣١١⦘ يا قنبر، قال: أخرج هذا فاجلده، ثم جاء المجلود فقال: إنه قد زاد علي ثلاثة أسواط، فقال (له) (١) علي: ما (تقول) (٢)؟ قال: صدق يا أمير المؤمنين! قال: خذ السوط فاجلده ثلاثة أسواط، ثم قال: يا قنبر! إذا جلدت فلا تَعدَّ الحدود (٣).
29865 - Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Khalid narrated to us from Ash'ath from Fudayl from Abdullah ibn Ma'qil who said: I was sitting with Ali when a man came to him and spoke to him privately. Ali said: O Qanbar. The people said: ⦗311⦘ O Qanbar. He said: Take this man out and flog him. Then the flogged man came and said: He has added three lashes to my punishment. Ali said to him: What do you say? He said: He has spoken the truth, O Commander of the Faithful! He said: Take the whip and flog him three lashes. Then he said: O Qanbar! When you flog, do not exceed the prescribed limits.
