٢٩٧٢٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو خالد عن حجاج عن ابن أبي نجيح عن مجاهد (١).
Hazrat Ata narrates that Hazrat Qatada had an umm walad who used to graze his goats. The son born from this slave woman said to him, "How long will you keep my mother as a slave? By Allah! You cannot keep her as a slave for longer than the period you have already kept her." He (Qatada) said, "Indeed, what are you doing here?" Then he struck her with a sword and killed her. Regarding this matter, Hazrat Suraqah bin Jusham wrote a letter to Hazrat Umar, so he replied, "Send him to me with one hundred and twenty camels." According to the narrator Hajjaj, among them were thirty hiqqah, thirty jadh'ah, and forty others. Hazrat Umar distributed them among her brothers.
