Hadith 29577
٢٩٥٧٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (وكيع قال: حدثنا) (١) سفيان عن ليث عن مجاهد: ﴿ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِي الْبَّرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَت أَيْدِى النَّاسِ﴾ [الروم: ٤١]، قال: في البر ابن آدم الذي قتل أخاه، وفي البحر الذي كان يأخذ كل سفينة غصبًا
Hazrat Laith says that Hazrat Mujahid explained the interpretation of this verse of the Qur'an as follows: Translation: Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned. He said: By "land" is meant the son of Adam who killed his brother, and by "sea" is meant the king who used to seize every ship.
