Hadith 29267
٢٩٢٦٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن (مطرف) (١) عن الشعبي (عن أبي جحيفة) (٢) قال: قلنا لعلي: هل عندكم من رسول اللَّه ﷺ شيء سوى القرآن، ⦗١٦٧⦘ فقال: لا، والذي فلق الحبة وبرأ النسمة إلا أن يعطي اللَّه رجلًا فهما في كتاب اللَّه وما في هذه الصحيفة، قال: قلت: وما في هذه الصحيفة؟ قال: العقل وفكاك الأسير ولا يقتل مسلم بكافر (٣).
Hazrat Abu Juhaifah narrates that we asked Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), "Do you have any hadith or anything else from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) besides the Noble Qur'an?" Upon this, he replied, "No! By the One Who created the grain and brought every living being into existence, except for what Allah has granted a man understanding of in the Noble Qur'an, and what is in this scroll." The narrator says, "I asked, 'What is in this scroll?'" He replied, "The rulings of blood money, the freeing of captives, and that no Muslim will be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever."
