Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Maisarah narrated: A Muslim man killed a Christian resident of the place Hira. Then, regarding this matter, a letter was written to Hazrat Umar bin Khattab: "You should kill him in retribution." So, the brother of the murdered man, Haneen, was told, "You kill him." The narrator says: He became so angry that he killed him. Then news reached Hazrat Umar that the killer was among the horsemen of the Muslims. Hazrat Umar then wrote another letter: "Do not kill him in retribution." The narrator says: His letter reached them at a time when he had already been killed.
