Hadith 2868
٢٨٦٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عفان قال: نا حماد بن سلمة عن حميد عن الحسن عن سمرة بن جندب (عن) (١) النبي ﷺ كان يسكت سكتتين إذا دخل في الصلاة، وإذا فرغ من القراءة، فأنكر ذلك عمران بن حصين فكتبوا إلى أبي بن كعب فكتب إليهم أن صدق سمرة (٢).
Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would observe silence twice: once after starting the prayer, and the second time after completing the recitation. This narration seemed strange to Hazrat Imran bin Husain, so he sought Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b's opinion about it through a letter. He replied that Hazrat Samurah speaks the truth.
