Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zubair bin Junadah narrates that I asked Ata about a person who struck another, and then the victim lost his hearing, although previously he could hear. Ata replied that he should be left alone, and then when he is in deep sleep, noise and commotion should be made around him; if he does not wake up, then blood money (diyat) will be due, and if he wakes up, then a decision will be made.
