في الرجل يمدح الرجلOne Who Praises Someone
Hadith 27944
٢٧٩٤٤ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن همام بن الحارث أن رجلًا جعل يمدح عثمان، فعمد المقداد فجثا على ركبتيه، قال: وكان رجلًا ضخمًا، قال: فجعل يحثو في وجهه الحصى فقال له عثمان: ما شأنك؟ (قال) (١): قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إذا رأيتم المداحين فاحثوا في وجوههم التراب" (٢).
Ibrahim narrates that Hammam bin Harith said: A person was praising Hazrat Uthman, so Hazrat Miqdad, supporting himself, sat on his knees; he was a stout man. Then he began to throw pebbles towards the mouth of the one praising. Upon this, Hazrat Uthman asked him: What happened to you? He replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see those who praise others, throw dust into their mouths.
