Hadith 27825
٢٧٨٢٥ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن أبي عروبة عن قتادة قال: بلغنا أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ سئل عن اللعب بالكعبين فقال: "إنها ميسر الأعاجم" (١). قال: وكان قتادة يكره اللعب بكل شيء حتى يكره اللعب (بالحصى) (٢).
Hazrat Qatadah narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about playing with the pieces of Nard (backgammon). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, this is the gambling of the non-Arabs." The narrator says that Hazrat Qatadah considered playing with anything to be disliked, even playing with a stick.
