Hadith 27696
٢٧٦٩٦ - حدثنا الفضل بن دكين عن سفيان عن عبد الملك بن (عمير) (١) عن أبي (سلمة) (٢) عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: " (إن) (٣) أصدق كلمة قالها الشاعر كلمة لبيد". ألا كل شيء ما خلا اللَّه باطل". وكاد أمية بن أبي الصلت (أن) (٤) يسلم (٥).
Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Indeed, the truest statement ever uttered by a poet is this verse of Labid: (translation) "Everything except Allah is false and perishable." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Umayyah bin Abi Salt was close to accepting Islam.
