٢٧٥٦٩ - حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن العلاء بن المسيب عن خيثمة (قال) (١): كان اسم أبي في الجاهلية عزيزًا، فسماه رسول اللَّه ﷺ عبد الرحمن (٢).
Hazrat Khaythamah narrates that my father's name in the Age of Ignorance was 'Aziz', so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) changed his name to 'Abdur Rahman'.
