Hadith 26976
٢٦٩٧٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا زيد بن الحباب عن معاوية بن صالح قال: أخبرني عبد الرحمن بن جبير عن أبيه أنه سمع النواس بن سمعان الأنصاري قال: سألت رسول اللَّه ﷺ عن البر والإثم قال: "البر حسن الخلق والإثم ما حاك في نفسك وكرهت أن (يطلع) (١) عليه الناس" (٢).
Hazrat Nawas bin Sam'an Ansari narrates that I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about virtue and sin. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Virtue is good character, and sin is that which troubles your heart and you dislike that people become aware of it.
