Hadith 26829
٢٦٨٢٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن نمير عن موسى بن (عبيدة) (١) عن أبان ⦗٨٣⦘ ابن صالح عن القعقاع بن حكيم (عن) (٢) سلمى أم رافع (عن أبي رافع) (٣) قالت: (أتى) (٤) جبريل يستأذن على النبي ﷺ (فأذن له) (٥) فأبطأ عليه، فأخذ رسول اللَّه ﷺ رداءه فقام إليه وهو بالباب فقال رسول اللَّه قال: "قد أذنا لك" قال: "أجل ولكنا لا ندخل بيتا فيه كلب ولا صورة" (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Rafi. He says that Hazrat Jibreel came and sought permission from the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission, but he (Jibreel) delayed in coming to him. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered his blessed cloak and went towards him, and saw him at the door. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We have granted you permission." Jibreel said: "Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture."
