Hadith 25065
٢٥٠٦٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا شبابة قال: حدثنا (ليث) (١) بن سعد (عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد) (٢) عن أبي هريرة قال: لما فتحت خيبر (أهديت) (٣) (لرسول) (٤) اللَّه ﷺ شاة فيها سم، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اجمعوا لي من كان هاهنا من اليهود"، فقال (لهم) (٥) رسول اللَّه ﷺ (٦): "هل جعلتم في هذه الشاة ⦗١٣٧⦘ (سمًا) (٧)؟ " قالوا: نعم قال: "ما حملكم على ذلك؟ " قالوا: أردنا إن كنت كاذبًا (أن) (٨) نستريح منك، وإن كنت نبيا لم يضرك (٩).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira. He says that when Khyber was conquered, a goat was presented as a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), in which poison had been mixed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered, "Gather all the Jews who are here and bring them to me." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, "Did you mix poison in this goat?" They replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What prompted you to do this?" They replied, "We wanted that if you are a liar, we would be relieved of you, and if you are (truly) a Prophet, then this (poisoning) would not harm you."
