Hadith 24199
٢٤١٩٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن هشام بن المغيرة الثقفي قال: سمعت (١) الشعبي يقول: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "الشفيع (أولى) (٢) (من) (٣) الجار، والجار أولى من الجنب" (٤).
The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one entitled to pre-emption (shuf‘a) has more right than the neighbor, and the neighbor who is closer has more right than the one who is farther. (Or it means that if the one entitled to pre-emption is a neighbor, then he has more right, and if the neighbor is also closer, then he has even more right.)
