Hadith 2393
٢٣٩٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن عمارة بن زاذان عن يحيى البكاء قال: كنت آخذا بيد ابن عمر وهو يطوف بالكعبة فلقيه رجل من مؤذني الكعبة، فقال: إني لأحبك في اللَّه، فقال ابن عمر: إني لأبغضك في اللَّه؛ إنك تحسن صوتك لأخذ الدراهم (١).
Yahya Bakkā’ says that during Ṭawāf, I was holding the hand of Ḥaḍrat Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both). Meanwhile, a muezzin of the Kaʿbah met him and said, “I love you for the sake of Allah.” Ḥaḍrat Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied, “I hate you for the sake of Allah because you beautify your voice for the sake of obtaining dirhams.”
