Hadith 2391
٢٣٩١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن مبارك عن جويبر عن الضحاك؛ أنه كره أن يأخذ المؤذن على أذانه جعلًا، ويقول: إن أعطي بغير مسألة فلا بأس.
Hazrat Dhahhak considered it undesirable for the muezzin to take wages for the call to prayer. However, if he receives it without asking, then there is no harm.
