ما يقول الرجل إذا سمع الأذانWhat Should the Listener Say in Response to Adhan?
Hadith 2381
٢٣٨١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن سفيان (عن) (١) عاصم بن عبيد اللَّه (عن عبيد اللَّه) (٢) بن عبد اللَّه بن الحارث عن أبيه: أن النبي ﷺ كان يقول مثل ما يقول المؤذن، فإذا بلغ حي على الصلاة حي على الفلاح قال: "لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوة إلَّا باللَّهِ" (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say the same words as the muezzin, except that in place of "Hayya 'ala-s-Salah" and "Hayya 'ala-l-Falah," he used to say "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah."
