Hadith 23748
٢٣٧٤٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم (عن) (١) ابن أبي نجيح عن عبد اللَّه بن كثير عن أبي المنهال عن ابن عباس قال: قدم النبي ﷺ المدينة والناس يسلفون في التمر العام والعامين والثلاثة، فقال: "من (سلّف) (٢) في تمر فليسلف في كيل معلوم ووزن معلوم (إلى أجل معلوم) (٣) " (٤).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, people used to make salam (forward sale) in dates for one, two, or three years. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever makes a salam sale in dates should do so for a specified measure and weight, and for a fixed period.
