Hadith 2359
٢٣٥٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن عليه عن هشام عن يحيى قال: حدثت أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال: "لَوْ عَلمَ النَّاسُ مَا في الأَذانِ (لَتَجَارُّوهُ) (١) "، قال: وكان يقال: ابتدروا الأذان ولا تبتدروا (الإمامة) (٢) (٣).
Yahya narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If people knew what is in the call to prayer (adhan), they would run to it. He says that it was said: Strive to go for the call to prayer, but do not strive as much for leading the prayer (imamat).
