Hadith 23210
٢٣٢١٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا علي بن هاشم عن ابن أبي ليلى عن عطية عن أبي سعيد عن النبي ﷺ قال: "لا (تبتاعوا) (١) الثمرة (حتى) (٢) يبدو صلاحها"، ((قالوا) (٣): وما بدو صلاحها؟) (٤) قال: "حتى تذهب عاهتها ويخلص طيبها" (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not sell fruits before their ripeness becomes apparent. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: What is meant by the appearance of ripeness? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Until they are safe from calamity and their fragrance becomes pure, genuine, and clear.
