Hadith 23181
٢٣١٨١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عباد بن العوام عن يحيى بن سعيد عن سالم أن ابن عمر باع غلامًا له بثمانمائة درهم، فوجد به المشتري عيبا فخاصمه إلى عثمان، فقال له عثمان: بعته بالبراءة، فأبى أن يحلف، فرده عثمان عليه (١).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) sold a slave for eight hundred dirhams. The buyer found a defect in him and brought the dispute to Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) inquired: Did you sell him free of defects? He refused to take an oath, so Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) returned the slave to them.
