Hadith 23108
٢٣١٠٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (١) ابن أبي زائدة عن زكريا عن عامر (في) (٢) عبد كان بين رجلين فأعتق أحدهما نصيبه، قال: يتم عتقه، فإن لم يكن له مال استسعي العبد في النصف، وكان الولاء للذي أعتق.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aamir that a slave was jointly owned by two men. One of them freed his share. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The slave has become completely free. If he does not possess wealth, he should strive to pay the remaining half of the price. And the right of inheritance (wala) of the slave will go to the one who set him free.
