Hadith 22985
٢٢٩٨٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا علي بن مسهر قال: أخبرنا أبو (حيان) (١) عن أبي الفرات عن أبي داود قال: كنت تحت منبر حذيفة وهو بالمدائن، فحمد اللَّه ⦗١٢٢⦘ وأثنى عليه ثم قال: أما بعد (ألا إن) (٢) بائع الخمر وشاربها في الإثم (سواء) (٣)، ألا ومقتني الخنازير وآكلها في الإثم سواء (٤).
Hazrat Abu Dawood says that I was sitting near the pulpit of Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was in Mada’in. He praised and glorified Allah, then said: "To proceed: O people! Listen, the one who trades in alcohol and the one who drinks alcohol are equal in sin. And beware, the one who raises swine and the one who eats its meat are equal in sin."
