Hadith 22623
٢٢٦٢٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن عبد الملك عن عطاء عن جابر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "الشفيع أحق بشفعة جاره، ينتظر بها وإن كان غائبًا إذا كانت (طريقهما واحدة) (١) " (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The neighbor who is entitled to intercession has the greatest right to exercise pre-emption, if both share the same path; and if the intercessor is absent, he should be waited for.
