Hadith 22580
٢٢٥٨٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا عمر بن ذر عن مجاهد عن ابن رافع بن خديج عن أبيه قال: جاءنا (أبو) (١) رافع من عند رسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال: (نهانا) (٢) رسول اللَّه ﷺ عن أمر كان يرفق بنا، وطاعة اللَّه وطاعة رسوله أرفق بنا، (نهانا) (٣) أن يزرع أحدنا إلا أرضًا يملك رقبتها أو ⦗٢٨⦘ (منيحة) (٤) يمنحها رجل (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah have mercy on him) that Hazrat Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us from the service of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from a certain matter. He was very gentle with us, but obedience to Allah and His Messenger is the most gentle thing. He instructed us not to give our land for sharecropping. We are commanded either to cultivate our own land or to work on land that has been given without compensation.
