Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Ibn Aun that a man bought a slave, then rented him out and earned profit. Then another person claimed ownership of the slave. Both of them, disputing, came to Hazrat Iyas bin Muawiyah. The other person was found to be entitled to the slave, so he (Iyas bin Muawiyah) ruled in his favor regarding the slave and its profits. The narrator says that I mentioned this decision to Hazrat Muhammad bin Sirin, and he said, "He is wise; he ruled according to what he understood to be correct."
