Hadith 22244
٢٢٢٤٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن صالح بن مسلم قال: سألت الشعبي عن شراء الزيادة في العطاء، قال: لا آمر بها ولا أنهى (عنها) (١) (وأنهى) (٢) (عنها) (٣) نفسي وولدي، وقد فعل ذلك من هو خير مني، قلت: من؟ قال: (أمراء) (٤) المؤمنين (٥).
Sha'bi was asked about selling with an increase in 'Ataa (stipend), so he replied: I neither command it nor forbid it; I prevent myself and my children from it. The leaders of the Muslims have done it, and they were better than me.
