Hadith 22129
٢٢١٢٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (يزيد) (١) بن هارون عن حجاج عن مكحول قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أيما رجل تزوج امرأة على صداق أو عدة فهو لها إذا كان قبل عقدة النكاح، فإن حبا أهلها حباء بعد عقدة النكاح فهو لهم، وأحق ما (أكرم) (٢) به الرجل ابنته وأخته" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Mak'hool (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a man marries a woman with a dowry or any promise, if that promise and dowry were agreed upon before the marriage, then it is the woman's right. And if after the marriage the man gives any gift to the woman's family members, then it is for them. And among all those whom a man honors with anything, his daughter and sister are the most deserving.
