Hadith 21916
٢١٩١٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم -وهو ابن علية- عن يحيى بن يزيد الهنائي قال: سألت أنس بن مالك عن الرجل يهدي له ⦗٤٢١⦘ غريمُه فقال: إن كان يهدي له قبل ذلك فلا بأس، وإن لم يكن يهدي له قبل ذلك فلا يصلح (١).
Hazrat Yahya bin Yazid says that I asked Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) whether it is permissible for a debtor to give a gift to his creditor. He replied that if he used to give it before as well, then there is no harm, but if he did not use to give it before, then it is not permissible.
