Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zuhair Ansari says that a man hired another man to work with a camel. The hired man struck the camel in such a way that he blinded its eye. The owner took the matter to the court of Hazrat Shurayh, who held the hired man liable and said, "He hired you to improve the work, not to ruin it!"
