Hazrat Fadala bin Ubaid narrates that during the Battle of Khaybar, a necklace was brought to the Prophet ﷺ which had gold attached to stones. A man bought it for nine or seven dinars. When he came to the Prophet ﷺ and explained the whole matter, the Prophet ﷺ said that it is not permissible for you to buy it until you separate them. He said that his intention was only for the stones. The Prophet ﷺ said that this sale is not permissible until you separate the two. Then the man returned it, separated them, and then bought it.
