Hadith 21178
٢١١٧٨ - حدثنا (أبو بكر قال) (١): (حدثنا) (٢) أبو (الأحوص) سلام بن سليم عن عبد الأعلى عن سعيد بن جبير عن ابن عباس قال: أتاه رجل فقال: إني أسلفت رجلا ألف درهم في طعام، فأخذت منه نصف (سلفي طعاما) (٣) فبعته بألف درهم، ثم أتاني فقال: (خذ بقية) (٤) رأس مالك: خمسمائة، فقال ابن عباس: ذلك المعروف وله أجران (٥).
Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair narrates that a man came to Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and said: I made a sale on salam with a man for the delivery of grain for one thousand dirhams. I took half of the grain from him and sold it to him for one thousand dirhams. Then he came to me and returned half of the principal amount, that is, five hundred dirhams. What is the ruling on this? He replied: This is well-known and he will receive two rewards for it.
