Hadith 20878
٢٠٨٧٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا (هشيم) (١) بن بشير عن [حصين (عن) (٢) ابن (أخي) (٣)] (٤) مسروق (سأل) (٥) عن صيد المناجل قال: إنها تقطع من الظباء والحمر فيبين منه الشيء وهو حي، فقال ابن عمر: ما (أبان) (٦) منه وهو حي (فدعه) (٧) و (كل) (٨) ما سوى ذلك (٩).
Hazrat Masruq asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the ruling on hunting with sickles; these are placed in hidden spots and sometimes cut off the limb of deer and wild donkeys while the animal is still alive. Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Leave the severed limb and eat the remaining part.
