Hadith 20857
٢٠٨٥٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد الأعلى عن داود عن الشعبي أن عدي بن حاتم قال: يا رسول اللَّه! أحدنا يرمي الصيد فيقتفي أثره اليومين والثلاثة ثم يجده ميتًا (١) فيه سهمه أيأكل؟ قال: "نعم إن شاء" أو قال: "يأكل إن شاء" (٢).
Hazrat Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! One of us shoots an arrow at game, and searches for it for two or three days. He finds the game dead, with the arrow embedded in it. What is the ruling on eating it?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "If he wishes, he may eat it."
