Hadith 20849
٢٠٨٤٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا حفص بن غياث عن (الأجلح) (١) عن عبد اللَّه ⦗١٦٠⦘ ابن أبي الهذيل قال: (سمعت) (٢) ابن عباس وسأله عبد أسود فقال له: يا أبا عباس! إني أرمي الصيد فأصمي وأنمي فقال: ما أصميت فكل وما (أنميت) (٣) فلا تأكل (٤).
An Abyssinian slave asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that if I shoot an arrow at an animal and I kill it with my arrow, or after being struck by the arrow it dies due to some other reason, what is the ruling? Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) replied that if it is killed by your arrow, then eat it, and if it dies afterwards, then do not eat it.
