Hadith 20767
٢٠٧٦٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا حميد بن عبد الرحمن عن زهير عن جابر عن عامر قال: إذا أرسلت كلبك أو سهمك فنسيت أن تسمي -أي حين ترسله- ثم سميت قبل أن (تأخذه) (١) فلا تأكل، حتى (تسمي) (٢) حين ترسله.
Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when you send your dog or arrow towards the prey and at that time you forget to say Bismillah, then later when that arrow or dog reaches the prey, you cannot eat that prey. This is because it is necessary that you say Bismillah at the time of sending it.
