ما (قالوا) في الكلب يأكل من صيده؟Is It Permissible to Eat an Animal Hunted by a Dog?
Hadith 20727
٢٠٧٢٧ - حدثنا (أبو بكر (*) قال: نا) (١) أبو الأحوص عن أبي إسحاق عن الشعبي قال: قال ابن عباس: إذا أرسلت كلبك فأخذ الصيد فأكل منه فلا تأكل، فإنما أمسك على نفسه، وإن هو لم يأكل منه فكل فإنما أمسك عليك وإن قتل (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says that if you release your dog for hunting and it eats from the catch, then do not eat it because the dog has caught the prey for itself. But if it does not eat from it, then you may eat it because the dog has hunted it for you; even if the prey dies, still you may eat it.
