Hadith 20462
٢٠٤٦٢ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لقد هممت أن لا أتخلف عن سرية تخرج في سبيل اللَّه ولكن ليس عندي ما (أحملهم) (١)، (ولَوَددْتُ) (٢) أن أقْتَلَ في سبيل اللَّه ثمَّ أحيا ثم أُقْتَلَ ثم أحيا ثم أقتل (٣) " (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I wish that I would not remain behind any army going out in the way of Allah, but I have no option except to send people. I wish that I be martyred in the way of Allah, then brought back to life, then martyred, then brought back to life, then martyred.
