Hadith 20352
٢٠٣٥٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا (أبو) (١) معاوية قال: نا إسماعيل بن سميع عن أبي رزين قال: أتى النبي ﷺ رجل فقال: يا رسول اللَّه أرأيت قول اللَّه تعالى: ﴿الطَّلَاقُ مَرَّتَانِ فَإِمْسَاكٌ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِيحٌ بِإِحْسَانٍ﴾ [البقرة: ٢٢٩]، فأين (الثالثة؟) (٢) فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إمساك بمعروف أو تسريح بإحسان) هي الثالثة" (٣).
Hazrat Abu Razeen (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "In the verse of the Holy Qur'an { الطَّلاَقُ مَرَّتَانِ فَإِمْسَاکٌ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِیحٌ بِإِحْسَانٍ }, two divorces are mentioned; where is the third divorce?" He (the Prophet) replied, "To retain (the wife) with kindness or to release (her) with good treatment is the third divorce."
