Hadith 19722
١٩٧٢٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا جرير عن مغيرة قال: ذكرت لإبراهيم حديث فاطمة بنت قيس فقال إبراهيم: (قال) (١) عمر: (لا ندع) (٢) كتاب اللَّه وسنة رسوله لقول امرأة لا ندري: حفظت أو نسيت، (و) (٣) كان عمر يجعل لها السكنى والنفقة (٤).
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "We cannot abandon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) because of the statement of a woman; we do not know whether that woman forgot or remembered." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to make it obligatory upon the husband to provide residence and maintenance for a divorced woman.
