Hadith 19160
١٩١٦٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (حدثنا) (١) يزيد بن هارون عن حبيب عن عمرو قال: سئل جابر بن زيد عن رجل لزمته امرأته تسأله الطلاق فقال: اذهبي فأنا منك بريء وأنت مني بريئة، ولا ينوي الطلاق حينئذ، قال: إن لم يكن نوى الطلاق فليس (بطلاق) (٢) وإن كان نوى الطلاق فهي واحدة، وله أن يراجعها في عدتها.
Hazrat Amr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a man's wife insists on divorce from him, and he says to her, "Go, you are free from me and I am free from you," and he does not intend divorce by this, then what is the ruling? He replied: If he did not intend divorce, then divorce will not take place; and if he intended divorce, then one divorce will occur, and he will have the right to take her back during the waiting period (iddah).
