Hadith 1913
١٩١٣ - حدثنا حفص عن الأعمش عن أبي إسحاق عن عبد خير عن علي قال: لو كان الدين (بالرأي) (١)؛ (كان) (٢) باطن القدمين أولى وأحق بالمسح من ظاهرهما ولكني رأيت النبي ﷺ مسح ظاهرهما (٣).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if religion were based on reason, then wiping over the underside of the foot would have been more deserving than the upper part, but I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wiping over the upper part of the foot.
