Hadith 19059
١٩٠٥٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن مسروق قال: جاء رجل إلى عمر فقال: إني جعلت أمر امرأتي بيدها، فطلقت ⦗١٧٧⦘ نفسها ثلاثًا، فقال عمر لعبد اللَّه: ما تقول؟ فقال عبد اللَّه: أراها واحدة وهو أملك بها، فقال عمر: (و) (١) أنا أيضا أرى ذلك (٢).
Hazrat Masruq narrates that a man came to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and said that he had delegated the matter of divorce to his wife, and she gave herself three divorces. What is the ruling now? Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) about this matter, and he replied, "In my opinion, only one divorce has taken place, and the man has more right to take his wife back." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "This is also my opinion."
