Hadith 18969
١٨٩٦٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد اللَّه بن نمير عن عبد الملك عن عطاء أنه سئل عن رجل أنه كتب (طلاق) (١) امرأته ثم ندم فأمسك الكتاب، قال: إن أمسك فليس بشيء، وإن أمضاه فهو طلاق.
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a person wrote a divorce to his wife, then regretted it and withheld the letter, will the divorce take place or not? He replied: If he withheld it, the divorce will not take place, and if he let it go, the divorce will take place.
