Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I sent a marriage proposal for the daughter of Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), so he said: "The son of Abu Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) is eligible for marriage. We praise Allah and send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Acting upon the command of Allah {إمْسَاکٌ بِمَعْرُوفٍ ، أَوْ تَسْرِیحٌ بِإِحْسَانٍ }, we have married you." Hazrat Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) performed a marriage for a man while walking.
