Hazrat Abu Rafi’ narrates that Hazrat Abu Hurairah met the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a street of Madinah while he was in a state of impurity (janabah). Hazrat Abu Hurairah left from there and went to perform ghusl (ritual bath). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) noticed his absence, and when he returned, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, “O Abu Hurairah! Where were you?” He replied, “O Messenger of Allah! When I met you, I was in a state of impurity, and I did not like to sit in your company in that condition, so I went to perform ghusl.” The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Subhan Allah! A believer does not become impure.”
